ERM Power Appoints Executive General Manager Energy Solutions

ERM Power Limited (ASX: EPW) today announced the appointment of Megan Houghton to its executive team, in the newly created role of Executive General Manager Energy Solutions.

Ms Houghton, a former Telstra Queensland Business Woman of the Year, joins ERM Power from her role as Director-General for the Queensland Department of Tourism, Major Events, Small Business and the Commonwealth Games.

Ms Houghton is a senior executive with 20 years’ experience in consulting, energy and water utilities. She has previously held senior executive positions in strategy and finance with Energex, United Energy and PricewaterhouseCoopers. She was also the CEO of CitySmart, Brisbane City Council’s sustainability agency, for six years.

ERM Power Managing Director & CEO Jon Stretch said he was delighted to appoint Ms Houghton to the executive team and looked forward to working with her to build on the company’s fast-growing Energy Solutions portfolio.

As Executive General Manager Energy Solutions, Ms Houghton will be responsible for the company’s Energy Solutions business which includes Greensense, Lumaled and Powermetric.

Mr Stretch said Ms Houghton’s appointment to the executive team recognised the growing importance of Energy Solutions to ERM Power and its customers.

“Our customers are realising that investing in energy efficient solutions to reduce consumption and match energy usage to business processes is the major lever they have in managing increasing energy costs in a volatile market,” he said.

“Megan’s unique perspectives and insights, drawn from her deep commercial experience and sector expertise, will be welcomed as we broaden our relationships with customers through the provision of energy efficiency solutions.

Mr Stretch said Ms Houghton’s credentials and experience would help her contribute to the company in its next phase of growth, and further strengthened the calibre of the company’s executive team.

Ms Houghton will commence with ERM Power in Brisbane on Monday 21 November 2016.
